The fifth free upgrade to LightWave v9, implements and resolves more than 625 feature requests and reported issues since v9.5 was released and introduces more than a dozen new features including
"This LightWave update again illustrates NewTek’s ability to quickly provide artists with the latest innovations to stay at the top of their games and do their best work,” said Jay Roth, president 3D division, NewTek. "Now more than ever, LightWave’s many benefits, including the ability to be used in tandem with other applications, make it a necessary part of the pipeline for those doing 3D projects of any kind." LightWave v9.6 is now available for Windows and Mac OS X

It was a really fun spot to make because the only directive was to make the shoes "look good", and beyond that they gave us free reign.
We only had three weeks from concept through delivery, and I was the only guy on the production side, but everything worked so smooth between the client, Oh Hello, and myself, that I didn't even have to pull a single late night.
I definitely credit a lot of that to LightWave for its ease of use.
