Instantly incorporate live video, taking SD-SDI, Y/C, component or composite video (depending on model) from the camera by connecting to TriCaster's convenient front panel.

Once a camera is connected to TriCaster, its video appears on-screen and is ready for use in your presentation. Connect up to six cameras (depending on model) and deliver your program to video, projector or the Web. TriCaster makes live event production faster and easier.

With LiveSet™ you can achieve the look of a sophisticated studio setting in a tight space without the need for external equipment. LiveSet is integrated into every TriCaster PRO™, TriCaster STUDIO™ and TriCaster BROADCAST™. With lights, a simple camera setup and a green or blue backdrop, your on-camera talent can be placed in any one of the LiveSet virtual sets. With the proprietary technology in LiveSet, you can also have multiple camera angles and change focal length from telephoto to medium to wide, without ever moving the cameras.

The virtual sets in LiveSet are designed with the Emmy® Award-winning LightWave 3D®. Use LiveSet Generator™ for LightWave 3D to create your own photo-realistic 3D virtual set environments. With LiveSet Constructor,™ you can also create simple LiveSet environments, using your own foreground and background artwork or photography available free to registered owners of TriCaster PRO, TriCaster STUDIO and TriCaster BROADCAST.

This proprietary NewTek technology allows you to use any computer on the network as a video source. Simply add the small iVGA application to networked computers and those systems will be seen by TriCaster. The TriCaster producer can then choose among any of those computers, bringing it into the presentation in real time. NewTek’s iVGA™ is capable of bringing in full-screen images, animations and even video playing on the outlying computer with incredible clarity and smoothness.

TriCaster offers total freedom to record, edit and play back with its virtual DDRs. Simply drop in a video clip and when you're ready to take it live, select and play it back instantly. Using the virtual DDR button on the video mixer panel, it is easy to cut between video clips and live cameras.

TriCaster's Picture Player is one of several inputs to the video mixer and can display a series of images in full detail, with the ability to set specific playback times for each image in the list.

More and more viewers are turning to the Web for information and entertainment. Live streaming with TriCaster is the ideal way to leverage your content. TriCaster allows you to live stream events and activities that may be better suited for the Web rather than a live broadcast allowing you to reach a global audience, expand sponsorship and advertising opportunities and build a stronger relationship with your viewers, fans and community. TriCaster makes live streaming easy with full support for Flash and Windows Media.

Running a presentation with live presenters and recorded footage requires flexibility and full control of the audio, TriCaster simplifies this to a few controls.

Each source (mic1, mic2, line, and DDR) has its own audio level controls and a single output volume control. The quality of your audio signal can be verified with on-board audio meters as well as with the integrated headphone output.

Each input has Balance, Equalization and Solo output. The microphone inputs also have an automated Talk Over button, to quickly reduce the volume of all other inputs, giving that microphone level priority. Most TriCaster models offer balanced audio and phantom power.

Edit Media provides the ability to bring in music or audio files through the capture panel or across the network. These audio elements may then be added to your project without importing or converting.

TriCaster accepts wav, MP3 and DV audio for immediate playback with control over left and right channels, a master audio slider with a visual stereo positioner.

Identify presenters and create key points with overlay titles. TriCaster offers numerous professionally designed templates that are customizable through a simple click-and-replace text function.

Quickly browse through many styles of lower or full-screen graphics and replace the stand-in text with your own. Access any page with a click and smoothly fade titles and text in and out. Create as many pages as you need from the various pre-loaded styles in TriCaster. Custom styles can be created using any graphics program and the integrated Edit Text.

When you need to create custom titles or graphics, TriCaster includes a character generator that provides complete control over text, gradients, shadows, font selection and more. Completed pages can be simply exported to Overlay where they are ready to add to your live production. Title pages, bulleted lists, lower thirds, scrolls and crawls can all be quickly customized.

TriCaster is ready-to-go with hundreds of professional transitions. Wipes, peels, 3D page curls and much more can be dropped into the Transitions folder and easily arranged. All transitions that can be used live in the switcher can be used in the real-time editor. You choose which order the effects will be recalled and auto-advance to the next transition. Using LiveControl™ or TriCaster VM™ external control devices, you can use the transition selector to quickly dial in the effect you choose.

TriCaster provides the ability to combine live images with background video and graphics using the included keyer. This effect is seen nightly in TV weathercasts. Key elements can be added in real-time using the TriCaster switcher or keyed in later using the editor.

TriCaster provides you the flexibility to deliver your program to three simultaneous outputs: video, projector and the Web.

Project your production in high resolution through TriCaster’s DVI digital output. TriCaster provides the ability to mix video with computer sources including PowerPoint™ with professional results as the video is scaled up to the resolution of your projector.

Connect a camera or video deck to TriCaster and use the streamlined capture functions to begin ingesting clips for editing or live playback. Start, stop and pause buttons make clip capture simple.

TriCaster's storyboard editor is simple enough to master in seconds, as all pictures and videos sequence one after another. This is the best place to start editing, as you can quickly rearrange and then replay to see the changes. The storyboard is fast and simple, yet powerful enough to provide any special effect you need.

  • Multiple video layers
  • Animated titles
  • Slow motion
  • Panning, 3D rotation, soft edges, more
  • The timeline editor allows you to further refine your program by creating picture-in-picture effects, adding titles and producing multiple video and graphics layers.

Transitions are easy to add by dropping them between each video segment in the storyboard or on the timeline. Once edited, your project is ready to be used in several ways; output as a digital video file, sent to a projector or streamed.
